WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) 57-year old John Tronolone was well known in the business world as co-owner of three area restaurants, including Oliver's in North Buffalo.

But he was also a very dedicated social studies teacher at Transit Middle School.

For the past 11 years, Tronolone inspired and motivated students with a zeal for life the included a lot of laughing.

Tronolone died on October 5, 2013 after a short battle with cancer.

The Transit Middle School community is now working to come up with a fitting memorial that will pay honor to the well-loved teacher.

Ideas range from statues to renaming school awards.
