Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- Minetta Walker didn't comment today on the federal charges she's facing, but we did speak with her attorney, Jim DeMatteo "At this point we are completely denying that she did anything wrong." DeMatteo says, "She was very upset and crying. Very upset about the whole situation."
Minetta Walker is surrounded by family and friends for an attorney's appearance in federal court. Authorities had been watching her since July of 2010. She was arrested yesterday after allegedly helping suspected drug dealer Derek Frank smuggle a large amount of cash past security checkpoints at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. They believe Frank would use that cash to mail out of state drugs to Buffalo for sale.
DeMatteo says walker has been employed by the TSA for 9 years and liked her work. Walker has been forced to surrender her TSA badge and any access to the airport and screening areas. Her attorney believes she has been suspended from her job indefinitely.
The U.S. Attorney's office will decide the next court date for Walker. She remains free on her own recognizance.
