An alleged swingers party that was to be held at a Lockport fire hall on Saturday night was moved to another location after public outcry. A lawyer for the South Lockport Volunteer Fire Company says the fire company rented out its hall to the swingers group without realizing what kind of event was planned. When the fire company found out an invitation to the event stated that adult activities would take place in two private rooms at the fire hall the fire company pulled out of the agreement.
A website for the swinger group's on Saturday stated that the swingers party would be held instead at another undisclosed location.
A local swinger initially tipped off Eyewitness News to the party planned for the fire hall. He talked on the condition that Eyewitness News would only use his first name. He says swinger parties are quite common in Western New York. "There are different websites, ones I don't really want to name, are easy to find locally if you just search the internet," says Brian.
One of the party organizers told Eyewitness News through an email on Saturday that the sexual nature of the Lockport party has been exaggerated.
