The annual Business First Guide to WNY Schools will hit newstands on June 14. Researchers are releasing data each day until then.

Sweet Home tops the list for highest paid teachers. Salaries for teachers are generally higher in Sweet Home than in any other school district in the eight counties of Western New York. That's according to Business First's annual ratings of teacher pay, which are based on an analysis of salary levels.

Business First rated teacher pay in all 98 area districts based on data from the New York State Education Department.

Researchers say Sweet Home's teacher salaries at the peak level are about $100,000, highest in the region.

Lackawanna, Williamsville, Orchard Park and Kenmore-Tonawanda round out the top five.

They are followed by Niagara Falls, Cheektowaga-Sloan, North Tonawanda, Akron and Grand Island.

Canaseraga has the region's lowest rating for teacher pay, along with Wyoming and Genesee Valley.
