Eyewitness News crews were the only one on the scene around six a.m. as FBI Agents, State Police, the Buffalo S.W.A.T Team, Erie County Sheriff's Office and numerous canine units surrounded homes on Buffalo's West Side.

They were looking for members of the Seventh Street gang, a violent group who is heavily into drug activity. After raiding those homes they arrested six people.

Channel 7 captured video of one of the suspects going into federal court. His name and the charges he is facing have not been released at this time.

We do know that all six of the suspects taken into custody are facing federal charges. One of the people is being charged with murder.

Residents who live in the area said it was a long time coming.

"Being a homeowner there is a lot of drug activity in this area and I'm sick of it. Now, finally the police are stepping up," resident Patrick Pfalzer said.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.

Channel 7 will be following the story throughout the day. We will have all the details on Eyewitness News at 5 & 6 p.m.
