SPRINGVILLE, N.Y. ( WKBW ) Officers took away approximately 40 animals, including a cat, macaw, miniature horses, goats, and pigs - all said to be living in deplorable conditions.

Officials from the SPCA tell Eyewitness News this is not the first time they have visited this farm, on Cattauragus Street in Springville.

16 animals were taken from the same location two years ago. The SPCA says some of the animals rescued Tuesday are in pretty bad shape.

Gina Browning from the SPCA tells Eyewitness News that the situation was horrible, and declared it a "monstrous" scene.

SPCA officials will meet with the District Attorney's office to discuss what possible charges the owner of the animals could face.
