Suspect Sought After Explosions In Lancaster

LANCASTER, NY ( release Lancaster Police received a report of an explosion on 12/22/2011 at approx 4:00a.m. at 4777 Transit Road.

First patrol on location found 3 large dumpsters at the rear of the property at 4777 Transit Road on fire and with heavy damage from the explosions and debris strewn about the parking lot.

After speaking with several neighbors, police learned they heard two loud explosions and a third smaller one that followed. One neighbor stated that when he went outside to see what happened he observed a white male wearing jeans, a blue windbreaker, approx 6' 6'3" tall, heavy set with white/gray hair running from the area.

Subject appeared to have a cut above his nose and ran past neighbor while running from the area of the explosions. Twin District Fire Department responded to put out the fires. At this time it is unknown what caused the explosions.

ATF, FBI and the JTTF are assisting Lancaster Police in the investigation. Anyone with information or possible suspect identification are asked to contact the Lancaster Police Detective Bureau at 683-3120 ext. 19.
