Superintendent to Host Series of Community Meetings to Introduce 5-Year District Blueprint

September 16, 2013 Updated Sep 16, 2013 at 5:57 PM EDT

The Buffalo Public Schools Strategic Plan Steering Committee has presented the Board of Education and Superintendent with a District-wide Strategic Plan, drafted by more than 100 representatives of community organizations and stakeholder groups working alongside District personnel. It will serve as a five-year blueprint for growth and success in the District and is aligned with the District Comprehensive Improvement Plan (DCIP).

The ultimate goal of the Buffalo Public Schools Strategic and DCIP Plans is to bring about transformational change in the District so every student is prepared for success in college, careers, and the global economy.

Dr. Brown invites the community to attend the meetings listed below, in order to share their views, as we work together to provide a world-class education to all students. All meetings begin at 5:30 p.m.

· Thursday, Sept. 19: Discovery School #67, 911 Abbott Rd.

· Thursday, Sept. 26: Waterfront School #95, 95 Fourth St.

· Tuesday, Oct. 15: Bennett High School, 2885 Main St.

· Tuesday, Oct. 22: Stanley M. Makowski E.C.C. #99, 1095 Jefferson Ave.
