EVANS, NY (WKBW) - Evans police are investigating three dayside burglaries that happened on Thursday, two of which they said could be related.

"The burglaries occurred at Lake Shore in the highland area. Then the suspect headed west to Lakeside," Evans Police Captain Charles Danzi said.

Both homes had their doors pried open but an alarm system at one of the houses scared the burglars away empty handed.

"The alarm worked great but the other house was not alarmed so the suspect got away with electronics," Danzi said.

The third burglary happened just miles away on Dawn Street. Danzi said. They don't think this is related to the others but police are now working to also find a suspect in that case.

Danzi said they are counting on the community to help prevent these types of crime by being on the look out for anything suspicious in their neighborhoods. They do have one piece of advice.

"Do it safely. We don't want them to apprehend or go out and put themselves in jeopardy but if they could get a plate number of a description of a person...that would be great," Danzi said.

Evans police are also investigating to see if these burglaries are related to crimes that happened in Orchard Park and Amherst.
