BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Primary elections were 6 days ago, but there is no clear winner for the democratic nominee in the Erie Country Sheriff's race.
That should change by the end of the week.
After the votes were counted last tuesday night, Dobson was ahead by 700 votes but there are still 3,500 left to be counted.
"The commissioners have not yet ruled on certain ballots for example absentee, affidavit, militaries, unscanned emergency ballots if the machine wasn't working," said Dennis Ward, Democratic Commissioner at the Board of Elections.
The official tabulation by the Board of Elections will begin Tuesday.
That's also the deadline for absentee and military ballots.
The winner of the democratic primary will go on to face Sheriff Timothy Howard in November.
