TROY, N.Y. (WKBW) - State Education Commissioner John King is responding to angry parents who want to know why he cancelled a tour of Upstate New York, including a stop in Williamsville.

King cancelled the public meetings on the Common Core curriculum after his first stop in Poughkeepsie.

Today in Albany, King responded, saying hecklers made the meeting unproductive, and that he believes some at the meeting weren't parents at all, but members of "Special Interest" groups.

King says he and his staff are trying to figure out a better way to get information on the Common Core out to parents.
