TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) -- A 16-year-old boy is recovering tonight from a minor stab wound to the head after a fight between two groups of teens at Canal Fest in the City of Tonawanda.
The boy's name is not being released. He is being treated at Women & Children's Hospital in Buffalo.
A 17-year-old boy from Buffalo has been arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Police said the violent confrontation occurred near the McDonald's restaurant at 10 Main Street just before 6:00 p.m.
Extra patrols were added to the area following the incident. A number of police, both in uniform and undercover, regularly patrol the event.
The suspect's name is not being released due to his age.
