ELLICOTTVILLE (WKBW) After the latest winter storm to hit Western New York, the North towns and Metro area got an inch or two or three, but in ski country and the Southern tier, they got just what they wanted; plenty of snow.

A foot of snow fell overnight, to the delight of skiers at Holiday Valley.

"It's great to get a snow storm after all this rain in December, and I'm hoping the conditions are pretty good," skier Erik Taheri said.

It is also good news for business at the ski resort.

"This is our Christmas present, just a little bit early. Thank you Santa, or whoever else. We are really happy, lots of people are here and happy, having a good time out there," Holiday Valley Director of Marketing Jane Eshbaugh said.
