HAMBURG, NY (WKBW) - Eyewitness News has learned that Hamburg Middle School Principal Jennifer Giallella witnessed the damage to Richard Jetter's car the night before he fabricated a story blaming it on vandals.
The superintendent of Hamburg Central Schools was charged with filing a false report on Thursday. He admitted to Hamburg Village Police on Monday that he lied, according to sources.
One witness, who spoke to Channel 7's Hannah Buehler, said Jetter sideswiped a utility pole on Como Ave. in South Buffalo on May 5 and a woman he was with saw the damage.
The pole is in front of a home owned by Giallella, according to city property records.
The witness identified the woman as Giallella. A school district source confirms the story.
On May 6, Jetter claimed his car had been vandalized during a school board meeting and filed a police report.
We attempted to contact Giallella. There was no answer at her home and our calls were not returned.
