Buffalo, NY (WKBW) The last words Eileen Jackson said to her son, Tyler Hunter, as he lay unconcious in a hospital bed was, "You made me proud."
"You made it for me.", Jackson told her son, "All I wanted you to do is get your education, and he did that for me. He made me proud.", said Jackson. The eighteen year old had just earned his high school diploma the week before he was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting.
Sunday night Hunter was outside a friend's house on Birch Avenue when a gunman fired a single shot to the the teen's chest. He passed away a few hours later at ECMC. Hunter had a passion for football and was hoping to land a career in the professional athletic world. Hunter's family says he was a kind hearted young man who could always make you smile.
"I want him remembered as a loving, caring, full of life person because that's what he was and that's how I will remember him.", said Jackson.
