Sister Karen Klimczak was one of the founders of the Bissonette House -- a halfway house where she helped ex-convicts transition back into society. She was violently killed by Craig Lynch, one of the men in the program on April 16, 2006 after an argument. Lynch is now serving a life sentence.
Organizers held their second annual three-day Summit for Nonviolence, "Creation of Peace." Friday night a service was held in Klimczak's honor at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Buffalo.
On Saturday, April 16th from 2pm to 6pm there will be a youth retreat at the Willard Pratt Community Center. Participants at the retreat will learn nonviolent conflict resolution skills through activities, art and recreation.
