GRAND ISLAND, NY (WKBW) - The Democratic candidate running for Erie County Sheriff made a 911 call to report a dispute when no such incident took place, according to police reports obtained by Eyewitness News.

Richard Dobson made the 911 call from the Grand Island Rod and Gun Club on Oct. 25, according to the reports.

When deputies arrived, they were told that no such dispute had taken place and that Dobson wanted to give them leftover food from a fundraiser.

Dobson's campaign office did not return a call seeking comment.

Dobson is running in a three-way race for Erie County Sheriff.
