HAMBURG, N.Y. ( WKBW ) A serious crash between two cars sent two drivers to the hospital Saturday night. The accident occurred on a stretch of Southwestern Boulevard between Amsdell and Rogers Road in Hamburg shortly before 8p.m.
Lakeshore Volunteer Fire Department Chief James Crandall told Eyewitness News that extracation equipment had to be used to free one of the drivers.
Crandall said there were two victims, both male, who were the respective drivers of each vehicle involved. He said both drivers were taken to ECMC, and that their injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
The identities of the victims, their status, and cause of the crash were not known at the time of this posting.
First responders from Lakeshore, Scranton, and Rural Metro Ambulance helped the victims, then cleaned up the crash scene that shut down the southbound lane of Southwestern Blvd. in that area for just over an hour.
