Serious Car Crash In Niagara County

TOWN OF WILSON, N.Y. ( release ) On April 28, 2012 at approximately 0042 hrs, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office received 911 calls reporting a serious one car accident at intersection of Cambria-Wilson and New Roads in the Town of Wilson.

On deputies arrival, the operator of the vehicle was located in the roadway after being ejected from his vehicle. Preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle, a pickup truck, was southbound on Cambria-Wilson Road (Route 425)when it exited the west side of the roadway. The truck struck a fire hydrant, a tree, and an embankment at the intersection of New.

The vehicle then briefly re-entered the roadway before exiting off the east side of the road into a yard at 4075 Chestnut Road. The driver was flown by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center where he is in critical condition. Investigation continuing by the Niagara County Sheriff's Accident Investigation Unit.
