Security or Privacy? Public Concerned over NSA Surveillance

NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW) Revelations by a National Security Agency employee that the government is collecting phone records and monitoring internet usage for millions of Americans is creating a national debate over the right of citizens versus the needs of the county.

Congressman Brian Higgins adding that it is a difficult balance but surveillance efforts have made an impact here in Western New York.

In April, secret police surveillance of communications led to the arrest of two men who were plotting to blow up train tracks for the Maple Leaf Line which runs from Toronto to New York City.

The train passes over the Whirlpool Bridge in Niagara Falls, and it was thought the terrorists were looking at that area to execute their plot.
