BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - University Police at UB are taking extra precautions to make sure the President and those in attendance are safe on Thursday.

You may have noticed helicopters and law enforcement officials around the UB campus. They are sweeping the area and will continue to do for the next two days.

On Thursday, about 50 university officers will be assisting the Secret Service at Alumni Arena and all around campus.

New York State Troopers as well as police from the Town of Amherst will also be present.

It's a security plan that came together in just a few days.

If you have a ticket to the event, you should arrive by 9 am on Thursday. Expect to go though a metal detector. Food, drinks, and large cameras are not permitted.
