BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - A security guard was shot Monday night outside a discount retail store on the city's West Side.

The man was standing outside the Family Dollar store at the corner of Niagara St. & Pennsylvania Ave. just after 9:30a.m. when shots rang out, according to Buffalo Police.

Central District Officers say the store security guard was shot by one of three suspects, who were apparently all wearing masks.
It appears the security guard fired back as the suspects fled east on Pennsylvania.

The victim was taken to ECMC where he's listed in stable condition.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Confidential TIPCALL Line at 847-2255 or Text a Tip at (716)847-2255 or e-mail the department at www.bpdny.org.

A police surveillance camera posted on the corner may have caught the getaway.

Earlier Monday, another Family Dollar store was targeted in Buffalo. An armed suspect held up the East Delavan location near Grider St. just before 8:30 a.m.
