Town of Evans, NY

Crews removed a Honda Accord station wagon from South Creek road in a remote area of the Town of Evans. The vehicle belongs to 18 year old Angel Leverenz. Police found the car unlocked with the keys still inside, but no sign of Angel.

"We don't know what happened to her she could have went hiking, or she could have just met a friend there and didn't tell her family and she could have went out of town. We're just not sure what happened right now," said Captain Charles Danzi of the Town of Evans Police.

Angel's mother passed away several years ago and she lived at a home in Angola with her father and younger brother. Her father refused to talk to us on camera. It was Angel's father who called police around 12 o'clock Thursday afternoon telling investigators he had not seen angel for the past two days. Neighbors and close friends of Angel's family tell us she was a senior at Lakeshore High School, and would have no reason to flee. But one neighbor told us he feels there will be quote, "closure" Friday when authorities resume their search.

Authorities plan to bring in divers to search the creek area and authorities also plan to scour Angel's car for clues to her disappearance, which has been taken into custody.

If you have any information that could help investigators, you are asked to call Town of Evans police at 716-549-3600.
