(release ) The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has announced that bridge repairs are continuing on NY Route 198, the Scajaquada Expressway, in the city of Buffalo, Erie County. As a result, the Exit 11 ramps to eastbound NY Route 198, from Interstate 190 northbound and southbound, will continue to be closed nightly between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., on Monday, April 18 through Friday April 22. The posted detours are as follows:

Interstate 190 Southbound to NY Route 198 Eastbound
Motorists traveling on Interstate 190 southbound should exit at Exit 14 before reaching Exit 11, and follow the posted detour on NY Route 266 (Niagara Street) to the NY Route 198 eastbound access ramp located at the intersection of NY Route 266 (Niagara Street) and Tonawanda Street.

Interstate 190 Northbound to NY Route 198 Eastbound
Motorists traveling on Interstate 190 northbound should proceed to Exit 13, and follow the posted detour on NY Route 266 (Niagara Street) to the NY Route 198 eastbound access ramp located at the intersection of NY Route 266 (Niagara Street) and Tonawanda Street.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
