(Buffalo) - Sandy's wrath wasn't as dramatic in the western part of New York. Residents here were spared most of the problems being experienced on the east coast.
Spotty power outages are reported throughout the region. In the city of Buffalo, only a few reports of downed trees - but no major damage is reported.
Communities along Lakes Erie and Ontario are still being monitored by emergency officials for any potential flooding. Winds churned the lake waters and spilled onto some nearby roads.There are some gale concerns along the lakes this morning.
