The Buffalo Sabres officially assumed control of the Rochester Americans American Hockey League franchise Wednesday morning.
At a news conference on Wednesday Terry Pegula said, "I don't think anyone thought we'd get the deal done in this time frame."
Buffalo Sabres president Ted Black, General Manager Darcy Regier and Sabres Owner Terry Pegula addressed the media today about the sale of the Amerks and the teaching they plan to do with their younger players, with Pegula calling the Rochester Americans the "University of Sabres".
The goal of winning a Stanley Cup was at the forefront for Pegula, Regier and team president Ted Black, who explained, "when we win the cup there will be a parade in both Rochester and Buffalo."
