It's Sabres playoff time here in Buffalo and fans are lining up for the opportunity to cheer on the home team.
Mark Lewis was the first Sabres fan in line at HSBC Arena and waited all night for a playoff ticket.
"I'm excited to be number one because I'm guaranteed a ticket to see my team," Lewis said.
Not only did Lewis get one ticket but he got 16 tickets for home games throughout the playoff series against the Philadelphia Flyers.
"Just to have tickets to the greatest in the world, for the greatest team in the world is a bonus," Lewis said.
Lewis is more than a die-hard fan. His love for the team goes way back and really hits home.
"Since I played Pee- Wee hockey. I even named my daughter after them. I named her Sabre," Lewis said.
In fact, Sabres is his daughter's name. Channel 7 got proof but Lewis is not the only fan with their heart in the game.
"I've been going to games since I was seven. The whole playoff atmosphere is great it's almost euphoric. It's just a great atmosphere," Sabres fan Rose Draves said.
Mike Gilbert with the team said everything went right as planned. There were just fewer than one hundred people in line at the HSBC Arena box office but thousands of fans frantically trying to get tickets online.
"It's roughly three thousand tickets for each game that about 10 thousand tickets all together," Gilbert said.
The rest of the seats were pre-sold to season ticket holders.
Those who got your hands on tickets or others who missed out had one thing on their minds.
"We're going all the way to the cup," Lewis said.
The Sabres will hit the home ice next Monday at 7 p-m. against the Flyers. After that, the next home game is Wednesday. If the series goes to the sixth game, fans can see the team play at HSBC Arena on Easter Sunday.
