Buffalo N.Y. (WKBW) The Buffalo Sabres are getting into the holiday spirit hosting their annual holiday kettle drive.

Bell ringers were set up inside the pavilion of the arena on Friday November 29th at the First Niagara Center before the Sabres hosted the Toronto Maple Leaves.

According to team offcials, "The Salvation Army has also expanded its efforts to include text donations. By texting BUFFALO to 80888, fans can give a gift of $10 directly to the Salvation Army and the donor will be billed by their cell phone provider."

"Since 1884, The Salvation Army has been a vital link within Western New York's human service network. They provide individuals -- regardless of age, gender, education, ethnicity or religion -- with food, clothing and shelter, as well as social and spiritual support. Their mission is to offer hope for a better life by meeting basic human needs," officials said.
