Buffalo (WKBW) Inside the First Niagara Center, more than 18 thousand strong welcomed their team to the ice, including a video of fans marching down Washington Street filmed earlier this week.

Outside, threatening weather couldn't stop hundreds of fans from showing their team support at the party in the plaza.

"It's crazy. The atmosphere is amazing. All these fans are the best part of the game," one Sabres fan said.

"We all love the Sabres, we all love Buffalo, it's great," another yelled.

The wind, cold, and rain may have hurt the turn out, but for the most dedicated fans, it didn't matter. Fans said they would be in the plaza rain or shine, and one even said "I wish it was snowing outside. I guarantee people would still be out here."

As fans watched the game on the big screen, the excitement for this team and this season was heard loud and clear in the cheers of 'Let's Go Buffalo.'
