SWAT Team Raids Jamestown Apartment

Jamestown, NY (WKBW) A SWAT team took one man into custody during a raid on a Jamestown apartment Tuesday morning.

The team, working with the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant on the apartment on Terrace Place after 7 a.m. The search warrant was obtained based on an ongoing investigation into heroin trafficking in the City of Jamestown. Along with the search warrant, SWAT officers obtained an arrest warrant for a resident at the apartment, 26-year-old William Rogers.

Rogers was found inside the apartment during the raid and taken into custody without incident. Officers were then able to begin a search of the residence, finding at least 12 bundles of heroin, large amounts of cash, measuring scales, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana. Officers tell 7 Eyewitness News the bundles contained approximately 125 dosage units of heroin.

Following the search, Rogers was charged with several counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Rogers is being held without bail at the Chautauqua County Jail, awaiting his next court date in Jamestown.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force will use information obtained in this case in an ongoing investigation into heroin trafficking in Jamestown and the surrounding area.
