TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY ( release ) At approximately 5:47a.m. Sunday morning, the Town of Tonawanda Police Department responded to a Findlay Avenue residence, in the Town of Tonawanda, for a disturbance.
It was reported that an intoxicated male, who was causing the disturbance, and his girlfriend, were in the residence along with numerous weapons.
After several unsuccessful attempts to make phone contact with the occupants, patrol officers set up a perimeter and area residents were advised to remain indoors.
The Town of Tonawanda Police Department's SWAT team was then activated and responded to the scene.
After speaking with SWAT Team negotiators, the male occupant exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
The male was charged with Criminal Mischief 4th and was transported to the Erie County Medical Center for further evaluation.
Due to the quick and professional response of the Town of Tonawanda Police Department, the incident was resolved peacefully with no injuries reported.
