ROCHESTER, N.Y. ( WKBW ) A deadly fire has claimed the lives of four children after their two story home on Grape Street went up in flames around 1a.m. Saturday morning.
Firefighters were called to the residence after reports of a fire outside the home. When they arrived, they discovered flames inside.
Crews attempted to gain entry to the second floor to rescue the children trapped inside, but it was too dangerous.
All four of the children who died were on the second floor.
Officials have not released the names or ages of the victims, but they did say they were all in their teens or younger.
A woman and an infant were rescued from the first floor.
Police and fire officials continue to investigate the blaze. Eyewitness News reached out to officials in the Rochester area for more information. This is first fatal fire in the City of Rochester in more than two years.
