Rep. Slaughter Breaks Leg in Fall

April 3, 2012 Updated Apr 3, 2012 at 5:07 PM EDT

Rochester, N.Y. (WKBW release) --Congresswoman Louise Slaughter’s office released the following statement Tuesday:

“While in New York City for an event honoring women leaders in public service, Congresswoman Slaughter accidentally fell and broke her leg.  She’s in good spirits and her doctors anticipate she will be back at work when the House reconvenes on April 16. She is very disappointed that she’ll be unable to attend the signing ceremony for the STOCK Act, the groundbreaking Congressional ethics reform legislation that she authored and fought for over the past six years. The Congresswoman looks forward to getting back on her feet and continuing her fight for the hard working families of Western New York through November and into her next term.”
