Remains Found Have Been Identified

BUFFALO, N.Y. ( release ) New York State Park Police issued a statement Thursday that the human remains located at Allegany State Park have been positively identified by the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office using dental records as that of Thomas B. Hamilton who went missing on November 11, 2010.

On April 17, 2012 at approximately 12:40pm a local hiker reported to the New York State Park Police that he found what he believes to be human remains and personal effects near the Art Roscoe Ski Trails in the Red House area of Allegany State Park.

The remains were located in the area where Mr. Thomas Hamilton was reported missing a year and a half ago. The matter is currently under investigation by the New York State Park Police and being assisted by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and New York State Forest Rangers.
