Relief efforts from the Red Cross are underway in assisting the people of Japan.

As the death toll rises, and nuclear fears spread, the local chapter of the relief agency is standing by.

Heather Filipowicz visited the Channel 7 studios to talk about how you can help, and offer a preview of a summer fundraiser that helps the Red Cross assist local residents.

You can help the people of Japan by calling 1-800-RED CROSS, or texting "REDCROSS" to 90999.

You can also link to online donation websites by going to "news links" at wkbw.com

In addition, you can find out how you can purchase your $100 raffle ticket that will secure you two admission passes to the June 3 BASH on the grounds of the Red Cross in Buffalo. Information about that event is also online at "news links."
