BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - About 50 people gathered for an impromptu vigil in memory of an Amherst teen who took his own life over the weekend following years of bullying at school, according to his parents.
Jamey Rodemeyer, 14, died on Sunday.
In a YouTube video Jamey posted in May, he talked about be bullied at school.
"I always got made fun of because I virtually have no guy friends. They taunt me in the hallways," he said.
It's a story all too familiar to Thomas Gleed, who attended Tuesday night's vigil.
"It took me right back to 1964 when I was being bullied in school and I was afraid that people wanted to kill me. They didn't want to just hurt me, they wanted me dead," said Gleed.
