BUFFALO, N.Y.(WKBW) - Parents and local leaders gathered for a rally to save Buffalo's Martin Luther King Multicultural Institute on Monday.

The State has said it can remain open, but the current School Board has plans to transfer the 600 students in the elementary school to other failing schools in the region.

The Board wants to use a $4 million federal grant to create a new high school at the site.
