CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) It is not the news anyone wanted to hear during the first week of the new year, but Ralcorp Holdings, Inc. announced that they are closing two facilities in Chautauqua County.

Starting in April, Petri Baking Products in Silver Creek will begin a process to shut down which should be completed by the end of Summer of 2013.

According to a filing with the New York State Department of Labor, 228 people will be affected with 35 terminations occurring around April 4th.

Also in April, the Carriage House Plant on East Talcott Street in Dunkirk is scheduled to be closed.

Information from the New York State Department of Labor indicated that 133 people would be affected.

Ralcorp also operates a Carriage House food factory in Fredonia.

While it appears that operation will not be affected, county leaders are now working with State officials to make sure Fredonia's largest industry stays open.

"I think everybody is really worried. How can you not be worried?" commented Fredonia resident Vicky Jakiela
