Buffalo, NY (WKBW)

A normal prisoner transfer was anything but for the Erie County Sheriff's today.

A police call came out shortly before Noon that a prisoner had slipped his handcuffs off and somehow made his way out of the back of a Erie County Sheriff's Patrol car.

The suspect jumped out at the intersection of East Ferry and Humboldt Parkway in the City of Buffalo. Police lost sight of him as he ran down Woodlawn Avenue.

According to a police,a good samaritan, who unknowingly gave the suspect a ride--saw the police activity--stopped and told police where he dropped the man off. Police responded-- capturing him inside a home on Landon Street .

EWN cameras were on location for his capture...Kendra Eaglin will have the full story tonight at 5 and 6pm.
