President Obama to Visit UB

Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - A White House official has confirmed with Eyewitness News that President Obama will visit University at Buffalo's North Campus on August 22nd.

The time and exact location has not been announced yet.

The President's trip to Buffalo will be his first stop on a two-day tour. Mr. Obama will visit four cities through Upstate New York and Pennsylvania, focusing on higher education.

A University spokesperson released a statement, saying "“The University at Buffalo is very pleased and proud to host President Obama. The president’s visit to UB will be a historic occasion for our university and our community, and we are happy to provide a forum for the president to address issues important to our nation. Fostering a public space for discussing pressing societal issues is vital to our mission as a leading research university focused on advancing the greater public good. We are delighted to have the opportunity to host such a timely and meaningful conversation here at UB.

“On behalf of the entire Buffalo Niagara region, we look forward to welcoming the President of the United States to our university and our community.”
