BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Western New York is getting ready to celebrate winter with a full weekend of fun. The Powder Keg Winterfest kicks off Friday night in downtown Buffalo at Pearl and Seneca Streets, and nearby Coca Cola Field.

The Friday night fun includes a concert, followed by weekend events like tubing down the Skyway exit ramp...activities for kids...a beer tent, food, and interactive games. All that, plus the "Mark Twain Chili Cook Off" inspired by the movie "Bruce Almighty" and hosted by Channel 7's Mike Randall and Ginger Geoffery from "Eyewitness News This Morning."

Other weekend events include the Labatt Pond Hockey Tournament that Channel 7's meteorologist Aaron Mentkowski will play in, and the Buffalo Auto Show at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

A shuttle bus will take people from the downtown events to the waterfront tournament at the Erie Basin Marina

Organizer Drew Cerza visited "Eyewitness News This Morning" with some chili for Patrick, Ginger, and Mike to sample. Click the video to see more, and go to "News Links" at wkbw.com to connect with www.buffalowinterfest.com
