LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) - A standoff between police and a suspicious man on the roof of the under-construction Orvilles Appliance Center on Transit Road in Lancaster forced many businesses to go into lockdown Wednesday night.

Police say the suspect, 36-year-old Thomas Bailey, was threatening to harm himself because of a break up. Bailey was first reported on the roof around 10:00 p.m., and eventually jumped off early Thursday morning. He does not have life threatening injuries.

Bailey was taken to ECMC for psychological evaluation.

Roads were blocked off near the site, and the AMF Lancaster Lanes and FLIX Theatre were on lockdown for the duration of the standoff.

Police did not find a gun at the scene, as first suspected.
