BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - A man was shot by a Buffalo police officer late Wednesday afternoon just as officers were responding to a call of a domestic disturbance.
Officers were called to a home in the 900 block of Walden Ave. near Stewart Ave. just before 4:00 p.m.
The domestic dispute between a man and a woman was unfolding there, according to police.
"At some point, it appears an officer discharged his weapon," said police spokesman Michael DeGeorge.
The man suffered minor injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.
"The injuries appear to be non-life threatening," DeGeorge said.
Buffalo police homicide detectives and the department's Internal Affairs Unit are investigating the incident, which is standard procedure when an officer discharges a firearm.
