NORTH TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) - A North Tonawanda man remains barricaded in an upstairs bedroom at his Tremont Street apartment, police said, after several failed attempts to have the man peacefully surrender.
The incident started just after 4:30, according to police officials, when the unidentified man got into a domestic disturbance with a female who also resides at the home.
At least two children were home when police arrived. Officers removed the woman and children safely, but the man has remained locked in a bedroom since then.
Police are familiar with the suspect, investigators said, having been through a similar situation with him five years ago.
