Police Still Searching for Tonawanda Shooting Suspect

The Town of Tonawanda Police Department continues to follow leads regarding the whereabouts of 37 year old Angel L. Rivera of 1774 Kenmore Avenue in Buffalo. Angel is being sought in connection with the shooting of 40 year old Julio Lopez that occurred at 1100 Military Road on January 20th. Investigators have indicated that they believe Rivera is still in the area and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Any information that can be provided by the public could further assist us in bringing this to a safe conclusion. If Angel is seen or if someone knows where he is, they should not approach him. Immediately notify our department at 879-6613.The photo of Angel Rivera can still be found on our website, but the vehicle has since been located. (www.tonawanda.ny.us).

Tonawanda Police said the shooting happened around 6:45 a.m. January 20th after a confrontation outside the Tzetzo Brothers candy facility on Military Road.

Authorities said two men were on the side of the building and began arguing. Then, one man took out a gun and shot the other in the abdomen. They did say that one of the men worked at the facility.

Police are still investigating what exactly led up to the shooting, as they continue the search for the shooter.
