Police Reminding Joggers and Walkers to Think 'Safety First'

(Amherst, N.Y.) Amherst Police are still investigating a Friday incident where a white male driver jumped out of a car and tried to grab a woman jogger.

It happened just after 11am near the intersection of Park Forest Drive and Millbrook Road in Amherst.

The 27-year old female jogger was able to escape unharmed.

Police are reminding all joggers and walkers to only go into areas that they know.

Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Sgt. Joseph Belden also strongly advises the anyone going for a run or walk should have a cell phone and a partner.

Amherst Police say they are looking for a male suspect in his thirties, about 5'10" to 6' tall, heavy build, and last seen driving an older gold colored mid-sized vehicle in beat up condition.
