(Barker, N.Y.) A Niagara Frontier Transit Authority police officer is facing felony charges for allegedly 'sex-ting' a minor.

New York State Police say 27-year-old John Ingham of Barker, NY, used a cell phone to send a sexually explicit picture of himself to a child under the age of seventeen.

Police believe Ingham was trying to entice the child into meeting him for a sexual encounter.

John Ingham was arrested on July 6 after New York State Police and the NFTA investigated a complaint from the child's parent.

According to the NFTA, John Ingham was hired as a transit police officer in 2008.

He was assigned to a police detail at the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport in Cheektowaga, NY.

John Ingham was arraigned before Town of Lockport Judge Raymond Schilling and remanded to the Niagara County Jail on $10,000.00 cash bail / $20,000.00 secured bond.

He is scheduled to re-appear in court on July 12, 2011 at 6:00 PM.
