Niagara Falls, NY (WKBW/Press Release) - On Tuesday, Niagara Falls Police detectives charged 23-year-old Cordarise M. Houston with Attempted Second Degree Murder.

Police say he shot 24-year-old John Petty seven times in the abdomen on May 26th.

The alleged shooting took place at Petty's home, at 1957 Cudaback Avenue, around 12:40 on Sunday morning.

After the shooting, Petty was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was later transferred to Erie County Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.

Police say that Houston fled the scene and was on the run for two days.

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force caught Houston. Police say he was "hiding-out" at a hotel on Niagara Falls Boulevard.

Houston was taken into custody without incident.

Police are not releasing a motive for the shooting.

Houston is currently being held at Niagara Falls City Jail and will be arraigned Wednesday morning.
