Niagara Falls, NY (WKBW) - This time last year, a woman had gone missing, in a case that continues to stump local police.

Loretta Gates was last seen August 25th. Her body parts were found in the upcoming weeks in the Niagara River, by the Whirlpool Rapids and near Duck Island in Hyde Park.

Police say they have a person of interest, but not enough evidence to make an arrest.

Loretta's father is pleading for the public to report anything or anyone suspicious that could be involved in her death.

Arthur Gates says there hasn't been any closure for him.

"You wake-up and you realize that your daughter is gone. That smile that she had, the bright eyes. It's sad that somebody would have to take somebody's life because of something that bad."

Loretta was a mother of three.

Anyone with information should call Niagara Falls Police. Authorities say it has been awhile since they have received a fresh lead.
