BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - A member of a commission that is looking at ways to reorganize the Buffalo Police Department has been arrested on drug charges, sources said.

Ricky Allen Sr. was taken into custody in a drug raid this morning at his Roosevelt Avenue home.

The University District resident and business owner was recently appointed to the Buffalo Joint Commission to Examine Police Reorganization.

Last month, he was voted as interim chair.

Members of the commission include sheriff's deputies, police officers and former Buffalo Police Commissioner H. McCarthy Gipson.

The commission was formed by the Buffalo Common Council.

Sources said Allen was allegedly stashing cocaine at his home as a member of the Afro Dogs motorcycle club.

Further details will be released when indictments against Allen and the other suspects are unsealed during arraignments scheduled for Thursday afternoon at U.S. District Court in downtown Buffalo.
